Video game film Wrecker Ball 2 is in theaters this weekend and is the latest in the Wreckers cinematic universe.
The film, which has earned $15.4 million in its first weekend, follows the adventures of an aspiring DJ in a post-apocalyptic America who is thrown into a battle against a mysterious alien entity.
The story, which stars John Goodman, Emma Stone, Josh Brolin and Sam Rockwell, was written by Scott Derrickson, who also wrote the first two installments of the Wailing franchise.
The sequel to Wrecked was released in 2015 and the third installment, Wreck-It Ralph, is coming this fall.
The Wreck Up was released on Blu-ray in 2017.
In 2017, the director of Wreck Over, Rob Cohen, took over the film adaptation of The Princess Bride, and has since created a new, much more action-oriented movie based on the film’s iconic ending.
In 2018, W.O.P.D., Wreck The Halls, and Wreck the Halls 2 were all released on the Disney Channel.
