The Minneapolis dance studio that started as a one-man show is now an organization.
The Minneapolis Dance Studio Collective (MDSC) was founded on April 2, 2017, to bring dance studios and other dance-oriented businesses to Minneapolis.
Its mission is to help transform the way dance studios work, promote creativity, and improve customer service.MDSS is now a 501(c)(3) organization that focuses on bringing the best in dance to the Twin Cities.
Its president and CEO, Alex Smith, said in a statement that the collective was founded to provide an environment where creative and innovative individuals can be found, and to promote an environment that fosters a collaborative and fun culture.
“I wanted to create a community where everyone felt comfortable in their own skin,” Smith said.
“We wanted to be an organization where people felt comfortable, and where the dance culture was not just a novelty.
MDSC was born out of that vision.”MDSCs members can find information on how to apply, how to become a member, and how to buy membership tickets on the MDSCs website.
